anamika.
i grew up in mauritius, then went to study law at the london school of economics. i graduated with first class honors and flew to new york right after and sat the bar, i scored in the top 2%, so i'm a new york lawyer now. i had a big law job waiting in london but quit a few weeks in to do a startup. unfortunately, the startup only lasted a year. an investor got me hired at an ai-native law firm, where i do seed rounds and commercial contracts for tech startups. i realized i really enjoy talking to founders, so i started thechancery.co, where i bring founders together for dinner every week, sponsored by yc companies.
i feel very strongly about mission-driven companies, so i moved into a special projects role at the firm where i talk every founder i can into incorporating as a public benefit corporation. the part i actually like is building evals, which i do for the firm and, on my own time, at lawyerbenchmarks.com, where i test legal ai tools. i'm doing a computer science master's at community college on the side.
that's the whole story so far
